The job lost money in March. You found out when the bank hit $0.

3 months lost

A losing job or a tight cash week doesn’t arrive as a crisis. It builds in the data, out of sight, until it becomes one.

Month 1

A job runs over

Month 2

A big customer pays late

Month 3

Payroll week is tight

Year-end

It’s a cash crunch

Dear CFO flags it in Month 1, while it’s still small.

Today

  • Job costing lives in a spreadsheet someone updates when they can
  • You learn which customers pay off after the year is closed
  • Cash is a guess from today’s bank balance
  • You ask the bookkeeper and wait for a report

With Dear CFO

  • Every job’s profit, live from the data
  • Every customer and revenue stream ranked by margin
  • Cash forecast week by week, 13 weeks out
  • You ask a question in plain English and get the answer

Delay Cost You

Quoting at a Loss

A job type that loses $8K a time keeps getting quoted the same way. Twelve a year is $96K gone before year-end shows it.

The Payroll Squeeze

A short week shows up the morning payroll is due, and the line of credit pays for the surprise.

The Spreadsheet Tax

You spend 20+ hours a month rebuilding numbers instead of running the business.

Plan, don’t react.

the lender call, on our terms

“Dear CFO flagged our cash runway slipping weeks before we’d have seen it in the monthly close. That was the difference between planning the conversation with our lender and reacting to it.”

Board pack built from live numbers

“Our board pack used to take days of exports and pasting every month. With Dear CFO it’s built from live numbers, and we see a variance the day it hits the data instead of at the next board meeting.”
David DarmstandlerCo-CEO, DataPath

Every entity on one set of definitions

“We used to reconcile every company’s numbers by hand before each review. Dear CFO puts them on one set of definitions, so the numbers we discuss are the numbers, and we can ask a question across the whole business in plain English.”
Lauren NagelCEO, SpokenLayer

Nothing to lose but the spreadsheets.

If it does not earn its place in how you run the business, stop. Your data is untouched either way.

Why can’t I just use ChatGPT?

A general chat tool cannot see your data, so every answer starts with someone exporting and pasting numbers in, and nothing keeps this month’s answer on the same definitions as last month’s. Dear CFO connects to your systems read-only, keeps one set of definitions, and shows every step of how an answer was worked out.

What do I need for profit by job or customer?

Revenue and costs tagged to the job or customer in your accounting system, which most owners who invoice by job already do. Where costs are not tagged, Dear CFO shows them as Unallocated rather than guessing, and we set up how they are shared out with you on the call.

Which systems does the cash forecast read?

Today it reads QuickBooks: your bank accounts, open bills, open invoices and the payments that repeat, such as payroll and rent. Profit, reporting and the rest of Dear CFO work across 700+ integrations.

Is my data secure?

Dear CFO only reads from the systems it connects to and never writes back to them. Data is held in Google Cloud in the United States, encrypted in transit and at rest, with access controlled per company. You own what you connect and can disconnect or delete it at any time.

How is it priced?

Per month, for your business. Starter begins with a free 90-day audit, then $500; Growth is $1,000; With PSG CFOs is quoted on the call. There is no annual contract: you can cancel at any time.
